Kingman - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the Woodrow Funeral Home for M. L. (Davy) Cory, age 75, retired Kingman postmaster, who died at home Friday, Oct. 26. The Rev. Eugene Rapson and the Rev. Robert Carey, officiated. Burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mr. Cory, who had been ill for about six months, was born April 15, 1887, at Harveysburg, a son of Jeremiah and Elinor Minser Cory. He was married to Maude Lewis, who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary several years ago. Mr. Cory was the Kingman postmaster for 34 years, retiring in April 1957. He was also a registered pharmacist and with his father operated a drugstore in Kingman for 40 years. Mr. Cory was a member of Kingman Masonic Lodge 314, the Low Twelve of Rockville and Wallace, and the Scottish Rite Lodge of Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, a brother, Wayne Cory of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Kate Hudson of Rockville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Peggy Horn of Hobart, who was raised in the Cory home; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
